Product Care Instructions

Guarding the longevity of handmade papyrus, bronze, and steel pieces.

Handmade Egyptian Papyrus

Our papyrus sheets are masterfully handcrafted in Egypt using traditional ancient techniques, weaving crisscrossed layers of the Cyperus papyrus stalk. Because these are raw, organic fibers detailed with hand-painted iconography, they require meticulous environmental controls.

Humidity & Moisture

Papyrus is highly sensitive to moisture expansion. Never expose your art pieces to high-humidity zones like bathrooms or unventilated areas. Keep dry at all times; never apply liquid cleaners or damp clothes.

Framing & Mounting

We highly recommend framing your papyrus behind UV-protective glass. When mounting, secure the piece using acid-free archival tape. Allow the natural, uneven deckled edges to show, but avoid flattening under immense direct friction.

Sunlight Protection

Direct exposure to sunlight will accelerate the aging of organic fibers and cause hand-painted mineral pigments to fade over time. Display your papyrus in ambient, indirect lighting conditions.

Cast Bronze Artifacts

Our bronze creations are cast to develop rich, complex depth. Over time, bronze reacts naturally with oxygen and oils in the air, creating a unique historical patina. Proper care helps preserve this balance without removing the metal's natural character.

Dusting & Cleaning

Clean your bronze piece periodically using a clean, dry, ultra-soft microfiber cloth or a soft-bristled brush to clear intricate relief details. Avoid industrial chemical detergents or abrasive metal polishes, which can strip away the intentional patina.

Handling Protocols

The natural oils and acids on human skin can leave dark prints on bronze surfaces. Handle your fine metal pieces wearing clean cotton gloves, or pick them up from their designated mounting bases where possible.

Wax Preservation

To lock in the finish and protect it from moisture, you can apply a microcrystalline wax (such as Renaissance Wax) once a year. Apply a very thin layer, let it dry for a few minutes, and gently buff with a soft cloth.

Forged Steel Components

Our heavy-duty steel elements are forged for strength and industrial presence. Unlike bronze, raw or carbon-forged steel is highly susceptible to rust if it comes into contact with environmental moisture or salts.

Moisture Prevention

Keep your forged steel work entirely dry. Wipe down the steel immediately if it comes into contact with moisture. Avoid storage in damp basements or coastal outdoor spaces without specialized treatments.

Lubrication & Oiling

To shield the steel from airborne oxygen, wipe down the metal surfaces every few months with a light layer of mineral oil or specialized tool oil. Buff out the excess with a lint-free cloth to leave an invisible protective seal.

Managing Oxidation

If small rust spots develop, don't worry. Gently buff the affected area with fine grade 0000 steel wool soaked in mineral oil. Wipe clean immediately and apply a fresh layer of protective oil or wax coating.
